Used Spherical Valves

JM industrial buys and sells used spherical valves from leading manufacturers like SWF, Clyde Pneumatics, Roto-disc, Roto-disc, Clyde Pneumatics, Schenck Accurate in various specifications. If you are currently interested in purchasing Unused or surplus spherical valves, browse the list below that we currently have in stock. If you have a used spherical valves that you wish to sell, please contact us.

Spherical valves are used in high pressure water or fluid pumping applications as shut-off valves. They control the flow rate of the fluid with the help of a hollow, pivoting ball. Hence, they are also called spherical ball valves. JM industrial buys and sells surplus and used spherical valves made by leading manufacturers such as SWF, Clyde Pneumatics, Roto-disc, Roto-disc, Schenck Accurate, and others in various specifications. We ensure the available industrial spherical valves are in good working condition, and help find the right buyer. This is an excellent platform for buyers who plan to invest in used spherical valves of any type and configuration. If you require a platform to sell used spherical valves, you can contact our team today.

Structure and Working of Spherical Valves

Made of sturdy, corrosion-resistant materials, the valve body and dome are made from sturdy metals and alloys such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and so on. They come with a machined inlet bulkhead, inlet and discharge flanges. Spherical valves have a double sealing mechanism to ensure safety. Aside from this, these valves come with upstream connection pipe, water control circuit, power unit-either pneumatic or hydraulic, and electrical enclosure.

Spherical ball valves use a full bore opening and a cutoff with inflatable sealing mechanism that shuts fast. The bore, which is the internal pipe is aligned with the opening of the valve. The spherical ball has a hole cut through its center. The flow rate or capacity depends on the size of this hole. Most of our models have an actuator, while others have a mechanical handle connected to the top portion of the ball, which helps rotation within the valve body. The ball aligns with the inlet and outlet connection or port when the handle is turned by 90 degrees. This makes the hole perpendicular to the flow path which blocks the passage of fluids or gases. This is called “off” or “closed” state of the valve. Partial flow of fluids can be achieved by turning the ball at specific angles. This way the flow rate can be controlled either fully or partially. These valves are suitable for fluids of various consistencies such as semi-solids, slurries, and more.

Difference Between Spherical Valves and Butterfly Valves

Here are some differentiating factors between spherical and butterfly valves.

  • Butterfly valves are typically used in applications with low to medium temperature and pressure ranges. On the other hand, spherical ball valves are suited for applications with high temperature and pressure ranges.
  • Heavy-duty spherical valves are better at controlling flow rates of fluids with varied consistencies compared to butterfly valves.
  • Industrial spherical valves mostly have multiple ports, while butterfly valves have only two ports.
  • Spherical valves operate with a ball and are available in many shapes and sizes, while butterfly valves have a disk and do not have a flanged connection unlike the former.

Key Factors to Consider When Choosing a Spherical Valve

While we offer assistance in making the right decision based on your application requirements, here are some pointers to consider when choosing a spherical valve.

  • Application requirements: Understand and analyze your application requirements and weigh them against the types of valves in our offerings. You are sure to find one that suits your requirements.
  • Pressure and temperature operating ranges: The operating environment is crucial when choosing a valve. Check the compatibility in terms of the maximum operating pressure and temperature range of our spherical valves. Most of the models can withstand pressure around 100 PSI or beyond and temperatures around 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Consistencies of liquids: Our spherical valves are designed to handle liquids, semi-solids, slurries, and more. You need to check each model and its capacity to handle thick fluids as also corrosive and abrasive ones. Our stainless-steel spherical valves can handle any consistency and are resistant to corrosion and abrasion.
  • Valve size and configuration: We offer spherical valves in various sizes and configurations. The sizes vary from two to twelve inches and beyond, and so does the height of the valve. In terms of configurations, do check for the flanges, sealing mechanisms, and more.
  • Flow capacity: Check the application flowrate required, and if it should be consistent or intermittent. We offer valves with varied flow capacities.
  • Actuation systems: Consider the type of actuators fitted in the valves to facilitate the angles of rotation in your application. You can also consider manual or mechanical lever for movement.
